Vectorial magnetometers for navigation
A high stability magnetometer is essential for an AHRS (Attitude and heading Reference System) to determine reliably the heading with respect to magnetic North, and to complement information from other sensors on roll, pitch and yaw. The magnetometers we are developing exploit the optical and quantum properties of diamonds with NV centers for their very high sensitivity to magnetic fields.
The NV magnetometers can be integrated in an AHRS to increase its performance and its reliability and bring sensitivity and high stability, eliminating the need for recalivration.
