Protected anioninc salts - SIPECAL
During the early lactation phase, hypocalcemia and milk fever are two metabolic disorders having significant economic and zootechnical impacts in dairy cows. The use of diets with a negative anion cation balance (DCAD) just before calving has been identified as an effective method of preventing these disorders, through an acidification effect and activation of calcium metabolism. Diet acidification can be done by the addition of anionic salts such as calcium chloride.
However, this mineral is very unpalatable, and delicate to handle because of its high hygroscopicity and reactivity.

The coating of calcium chloride (SIPECAL) produced through SIPENA technology preserves the palatability of the ration and the animal's level of intake. The coating also reduces the reactivity and hygroscopicity of the initial active ingredient (calcium chloride), making it easier and safer to handle.
