EDDU is a range of pure buckwheat whisky created by the cellar master. From the same basic ingredients, each edition has distinct characteristics: fruity, woody or spicy. The entire range has been granted the "IGP Breton whisky": a label guaranteeing that each step in the whisky production process, from grinding through distilling to ageing, is done at the distillery in Plomelin.
EDDU SILVER, is the very first signature distillery, launched in 2002 was awarded a silver medal in the World Whisky Awards. Aged for five years in ex-Cognac French oak casks, EDDU SILVER has a recognisable fruity and balanced, full-bodied and luscious/rich/ mellow/harmonious/and creamy/velvety/ smooth character.
Our family LE LAY has been distilling for 5 generations and is now run by the 3 LE LAY brothers. Since 1999, the DISTILLERIE DES MENHIRS has been using 100 % locally sourced buckwheat for its EDDU whisky selection.
