The essence of FlexiModal is to achieve a decarbonised supply chain with smooth and sustainable delivery processes. Several alternatives are available to the carrier to facilitate the use of the right vehicle at the right place, to facilitate the transfer of goods between different vehicles and to reduce the impact of transloading (transferring a flow from one vehicle to another).
The BicyLift trailer has been designed with this in mind. By using standard size Modules (80 x 120 cm) and incorporating an innovative mechanical system to lift and transport the Modules, the BicyLift trailer makes the logistics chain more fluid. We facilitate the complementarity of the different modes of transport by ensuring that the last mile can be done by an adequate vehicle. This is called intermodality. Micro-containerisation helps to maintain economic activity in city centres while reducing the social, environmental and noise impact of logistics.
